Who Governs Vermont?
A public meeting, research, and discussion series examining who actually holds power over Vermont’s government, economy, land, housing, institutions, and political choices.
Who Governs Vermont? begins with a question that is simple to ask and difficult to answer. Power in Vermont is divided among elected officials, federal agencies, national political parties, major institutions, property owners, nonprofit organizations, corporations, regulators, and sources of outside funding.
This project creates public rooms in which Vermonters can examine those relationships directly. It may include meetings, research, interviews, public records, visual maps, reports, and local organizing.
The answer should be Vermonters. First, Vermonters need to understand the question.
